Caregivers

Caregivers who have been given permission to discuss with healthcare providers the issues related to a patient's treatment may not always be aware of the complex issues involved. The following questions are designed to provide a basic guide for caregivers when communicating with healthcare providers:

  • What are the patient's current lab results and what do they mean?
  • Have there been any changes in lab results (eg, viral load or CD4 cell count) that would require a change in treatment?
  • Are there any dietary or lifestyle changes that the patient should be encouraged to make?
